The Hang

Hanging & Suspension BBQ is our specialty. From intimate 20 person affairs to larger catered corporate retreats.

We have coined our signature event “The Hang.” It’s an hours-long tasting menu fire experience. Open Fire cooking is a way to return to the Earth, using primitive elements. We are passionate about cooking the way humans have for 1000s of years. When you come to a Hang, you feel the primal energy of the past.

Fundraisers

We’ve raised over $10,000 for charities doing food relief across the world.

  • Aquashare: Building freshwater drinking wells in Cambodia.

  • Bayou Fund: Victims of Hurricane Ida in SE Louisiana.

  • Flood Relief Fund: Helping survivors of the horrific flooding in NSW, Australia.

  • Giving Kitchen: Dining with Gratitude to benefit food service industry workers.

  • World Central Kitchen: Feeding war affected regions of Ukraine, Haiti and beyond.

Why go with a live fire food experience for your event? Because it’s unique, adventurous and the photos are absolutely wild. Also, the food is smoky and delicious.


WHERE?

We come to you! We can cook in almost any spot you book for your event. If necessary we can work with you to find a suitable location. We love cooking in new spaces.


WHEN?

Send us a line about inquiries in the link in the header bar. Generally spring, summer & fall are best for this style of open fire BBQ.


WHO?

The team is headed by Mark C Stevens who grew up campfire cooking and has been cooking over an open fire regularly for 8 years.

New Orleans

 

Will travel for BBQ. However, our home is in New Orleans.

 
 

Though we have spent time and grown in Australia, OFC has moved home to where it all began in New Orleans.

Fairgrounds neighborhood is homebase. Though we pop-up around the city, including at Tell Me Bar and Parleaux Beer Lab.
